Glass Chandeliers and Chandelier Lights
The first type of this lighting fixture that was
available was glass chandeliers. Historically, the
arms of a glass chandelier were cut with flat sides.
However as the years progressed, increasingly more
cuts and angles were added to these arms. The end
result is the style of glass chandeliers we see
today, which is elaborately decorated with multiple
fine cuts and notches on the arms. The benefit of
glass chandeliers over crystal is that they are
significantly less expensive, while they still retain
the look and appeal that crystal chandeliers have.
Also, they are easier to keep clean and won't dull
as quickly as crystal tends to.
This
picture shows the type of glass chandeliers that
are available. As shown, this example features classy
cosmopolitan stilling. It has a silver finish and
is complemented with a sculptured glass bowl. There
is also intricate detailing on the twisted rope.
This glass chandelier uses six lights, however there
are other models available with more or fewer lights,
as required for different size rooms.
